“No one could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.”
In the developed world we all contribute to global warming and environmental pollution through our daily activities. Lifestyle changes are urgently needed and most of us want to do our bit, but there is a lot of conflicting advice out there and thousands of new products appearing claiming to be ‘green’. Often these ‘eco’ products are the more expensive option, giving the impression that helping the environment has to cost more. Over time I will be building up a collection of ideas, information and resources here to show how we can all green our lifestyle and often save money at the same time.
We hear a lot about climate change, but this video ‘Synthetic Seas‘ by the Algalita Marine Research Foundation gives an insight into some of the other damage we are causing in our environment and why we all have to start taking responsibility for our actions before it’s too late.
I am lucky enough to live in South Devon in the UK, close to the beautiful River Dart. I have a degree in environmental studies and work in publishing, mostly on books about sustainable development, environmental issues and gardening.
After a lifetime of living ‘green’, I know pretty much what works and what doesn’t work for me, and this website is my way of sharing some of that knowledge and practical experience with anyone who might find it useful.
